Household bylaws
Goals of the House - to spend time with other like-minded individuals who enjoy riding horses in and out of the SCA, enjoy learning about horses, learning the finer points of horsemanship, working with horses, doing a variety of activities with horses and teaching others about all of the above.
We will have fun with the horses.
We will be competitive within the SCA games but never to the detriment of the horses that we ride.
We will do demos and freely answer questions about horses and horse activities.
We will help others join in the equestrian games
We will encourage authorized riders to become marshals, not just to have numbers, but to have safe, knowledgeable marshals.
Household membership - anyone can ask to join and be invited to a household activity, at a following household activity a vote can be held to determine if that person will become a member. However it is encouraged to spend time with potential members before asking them to join or asking for a vote. One activity is an absolute minimum. We want people that will be around for a long time, we can take our time in selecting new members.
An individual needs to be an authorized rider before being voted on. This shows a certain level of dedication and knowledge that is needed to educate others.
Members can vote in absentee.
There must be 85% agreement on a new member.
We will not shun non-members and they may join activities within the SCA.
Any potential person may be voted on twice. If they are voted down twice, there will not be a third vote.
Anyone may leave the house formally if they like, but it is requested that they state that intent just for the sake of clarity. They may also simply disappear and be considered non-active after a year.
Anyone who has not been to any activities for 1 year or more will be considered inactive and their vote is not needed/won't be considered for any matters.
Rules and by-laws will be made by Kiltigern MacClibarn and Matheus MacTavish, but must be voted upon at a meeting and passed with 85% agreement
Activities are defined as Equestrian events, demos, camp outs outside of the SCA, cook outs etc…
We will attempt to get together at various activities six times a year.
